A Day of Antiquing

With temps in the triple digits around here these days we have been spending a lot of time inside doing much of nothing. Last week though the boys and I headed out for a day of antiquing. All it took for them to go along with no complaining was the promise of some McDonald's french fries and a strawberry milkshake!;)

We found all kinds of eye candy like this gorgeous antique bed.
Gold Vintage Mirror-A Day Antiquing- Antique Shopping
This mirror almost came home with us. If I go back and it is still there then it is meant to be!;)
Ruffled Skirted Chair-A Day Antiquing- Antique Shopping
Though not an antique, there were a pair of these great chairs. I liked the ruffled bottom.
Vintage Farmhouse Table-A Day Antiquing- Antique Shopping
An amazing farmhouse table that actually was the exact size I am on the hunt for. A bit out my budget so I think I have Mr. Front Porch talked into helping me build one once it cools off outside.
DIY Lampshade-A Day Antiquing- Antique Shopping
Neat idea for an old lamp shade! All they did was use a small eyelet skirt and attached it to the shade.
Vintage Store Counter-Kitchen Island-A Day Antiquing- Antique Shopping
Chippy goodness right here and if I had a kitchen large enough for it I would have probably brought it home.

Another amazing island.
Vintage Church Pew-A Day Antiquing- Antique Shopping
I have been dreaming of finding a vintage church pew. This one would work but I have to decide if I want to give up The Old Lady in our foyer that I purchased back in 2011 which gets daily use or change things up with a pew. I just can not decide. What do you think? The foyer is the only place one would fit and sadly it is the only place that The Old Lady will fit.

This is the grandaddy of all vintage church pews right here! If this one would fit in my foyer there would be no question. The Old Lady would be finding a new home!;)

Speaking of green I brought home some chippy green goodness! Can't wait to show y'all my plans for it once the boys are back in school.

  1. There is almost nothing I love more than a day of antiquing (except, maybe, a day laying on the beach). What a fun adventure! I usually go by myself, although my Bestie D will frequently come with me if she's in town.

  2. You had me at antiquing. I really love all the things you've shown here. I say spring for the church pew! That general store counter, utility cart are fantastic pieces. Looking forward to seeing what you did buy and what you're doing with it. :)

    1. Hey Shirley! Tell them Spring just down the road from them. There is The Antique Gallery and Old Town Spring and a few others as well as Lauries they need to go to. All on the same road.

  6. Pamela,
What a wonderful place. I too would have snatched up that chippy counter for my kitchen but I too do not have the room. How sweet would that be! Love the chairs with the ruffles they are super sweet. Have a great week.

  14. By all means, do the church pew. I bought my first church pew for the backyard this spring. Although, I've had to drill quite a few drainage holes in it, we use it everyday next to the garden. GO for it!
