A Reveal- My Next project

I know I promised to share the wood beam reveal today but I am not quite done with accessorizing the space yet. I was waiting for something to come in and when it did it did not work out so I had to hunt down a replacement for it. Thankfully I found one and now the room is coming together.   As you read this I am busy busy busy pulling the room together and crossing fingers I get to take pics today. The reveal IS coming THIS week!:)

Till then I thought that I would share with you all my next project.
From My Front Porch To Yours- Master bathroom project

Last year I made over our master bedroom. If you missed that you can see more of it here. While taking the reveal pics I made sure to keep these doors closed. I wish I could have thrown them open for better pics but what is behind those doors does not go with our french farmhouse theme at all.
From My Front Porch To Yours- Master Bathroom Before
This is what is behind those doors, our master bath. I understand to a lot of people they will see nothing wrong with the space. We are very blessed to have such a large master bath but it is not our style at all. The walls are a dark camel color and were suppose to be one of the first things I changed when we moved in 6 years ago but as you can see that did not happen.

The tub backsplash is just the floor tile which will be going on way or another.

Now lets talk about this monster tub. Though a jacuzzi tub sounds nice at first let me be the first to tell you they are awful to try and keep clean. I never run the jets because of it unless I am cloroxing the tub. If I could I would rip it out and have a claw foot tub instead. That is not happening so I am brainstorming on a way to update the surround.
Wood Beam Door Toppers-From My Front Porch To Yours- Master Bathroom Before
One thing I did do about three years ago was to add wood toppers to the doors. Those will be going back up after the walls are painted.
From My Front Porch To Yours- Master Bathroom Before- Hamper Area
Cute little area for our hamper. It probably will not change much because I just do not have the room to do anything else right here.
From My Front Porch To Yours- Master Bathroom Before- Her Vanity
Giant Her vanity area. If it was in the budget it would be ripped out and only be half its size. Instead of the sit down vanity area I would love to have my french armoire that is sitting out in the garage. It would be so pretty to hold toiletries and towels and what not. Big dreams I tell ya, but small budget!;) The light fixture will be going though.
From My Front Porch To Yours- Master Bathroom Before-His Vanity- Baltic Brown Granite
Mr. Front Porch has his own little area. I am stuck with the baltic brown granite. I am not even sharing the shower area with you all. Nothing to see there but glass blocks that we really do not like. Eventually they may come down and be replaced with a frameless shower door but not in the plans right now.

What I really hate are the ugly tiger striped cabinets. Thankfully they can be painted though. I am tossing around color options. I am thinking possibly Sherwin Williams Sea Salt on the walls or possibly Sherwin Williams Maison Blanche for the walls and then Old White for the cabinets and bringing in SW Sea Salt on the tub surround.
From My Front Porch To Yours- Master Bathroom Before- French Country Toile Fabric
I will be bringing in the toile fabric from the master bed  shams.
From My Front Porch To Yours- Master Bathroom- Antique Bronze Pulls-Glass Knobs
Here are the knob and pulls I will be using. I have had them squirreled away since last year when I made over the master bedroom.
From My Front Porch To Yours- Master Bathroom Before- Vintage Tin Backsplash
My most recent purchase and what has jump started this project are vintage tins I found on line a few days ago. I fell in love with them and I am crossing my fingers they are the perfect size for the new tub backsplash!

This project probably will not go as quickly as the master bedroom makeover or even our kitchen makeover but I will certainly be sharing along the way.

Do you have a room in your home you would love to change out but have a little budget?

  1. I love your ideas Pamela...can't wait to follow along I know it's going to look beautiful when your done! Our big project this year is having more stone work done outside and adding more belgium block edging around our front gardens...bummer is we're hiring out for this project so the cost is up!

  4. I like to tell myself that if I didn't have to work within a budget, life would be sooo boring. HA! Looking forward to seeing what you do Pamela.

  6. Very pretty bathroom, Pamela, but I can understand about wanting to update it. Especially after you did your beautiful bedroom. We have doors just like yours into the bathroom, although we generally just keep them open. With no window in the bathroom, I want all the natural light I can get in there. I

I hope the tin fits in the bathroom area good. Can't wait to see what you do with the surround. I am with you on the Jacuzzi tubs. I can take them or leave them although if given the choice a nice tub to soak in would be fine by me. I don't do bath's often, but when I do I like to soak. Not really listen to the jets going.

  7. It will be nice to have your bathroom fit the color and feel of your Master Bedroom. I understand how difficult it is for you to complete this makeover. My family and I really had to stretch to get into our beach cottage in Santa Barbara. We do not have the budget to complete big, nice makeovers. So, I have been struggling to update our tired '70's home with next to no money. Challenging!!! Good luck with the bathroom. I look forward to your reveal somewhere down the road.

  8. It's freaking gorgeous! I mean, I know you'll make it better but seriously? Granite vanity? So much space! I love it. Wait til I show you our ORIGINAL 1960s bathroom when we redo it later this year. It's GRIM! There is gaffer tape holding it together! I'm green with envy and you haven't even had to pick up a paintbrush!

  9. I'm like you and would throw out my tub if someone would let me!! I don't use the jets anymore either. Total nasty up in there without running bleach through first and that wastes water and time. Looking forward to your updates.
