Ottoman Reveal

I mentioned earlier in the week about the Build Your Own Ottoman Class at Metamorphosis Studios  that I attended a few weeks back. After a sick kiddo and myself being sick I was finally able today to go back and finish mine up!
The class was for building a basic ottoman but since we ran out of time Jenn agreed to allow me to design a more personalized ottoman.
This is the fabric that I used. I had purchased it last year some time just because I liked it. This was the perfect project for it!
I covered up the blue circle in the fabric because I wanted the ottoman to be more neutral and was afraid the blue would limit me. I teamed up with Cathie who is Metamorphosis Studios In House Embroider and we came up with this letter 'F'. It is our last name initial. She did a fabulous job!
I love the nail head trim all the way around and the added jute webbing.
These little wooden legs I custom painted make me smile too! They turned out to be just perfect for the ottoman.
I really enjoyed making this with Jennifer. She is a fabulous instructor. I wish I could say that I can now make an ottoman on my own but it is a TON of work and a killer on my hands so I will just leave the ottoman building to the pro! I did though gain some great tips that will make my own smaller projects a lot easier.

Thanx Jennifer for such a fun experience! Also thanx to Cathie for working with me on my 'F'! I know I can be rather picky and she was super sweet to put up with me.

  1. This is just FAB! I am in love with that fabric. I once added some nail head trim to a chair and swore I would never do it again. My fingers were bruised from months from the hammering. LOL Can't wait to see where you put it. xxoo

  12. What a pretty little ottoman, Pamela! I love that fabric and the nailhead trim. I have made my own and agree it can be a lot of work to get to the finish. I think I like making over old ottomans better. : )
