Life Around Here

For those of you following along with our washer/dryer saga the old new set was picked up at the end of last week.
The new set was installed and I will share my thoughts on them in a few days after we have had them for a week.
The Hubster attempted again to tackle the stupid PEX tubing we have so we could hook up the new sink in the half bath. We should have listened to our neighbor friend and just called the plumber to begin with. It was like a huge water fountain and even went out into the hallway. I was not happy. Plumber will be called this week. Sometimes ya win some and some times ya loose some. I guess that is just the way it goes in the life of a DIYer.
Christmas for the most part has all been taken down and now the process of redecorating has begun which of course leads to many other projects!;) One of those projects being that mirror there.
I made new shelving for the laundry room and put it up. Now I am thinking I will be repainting this room so they will be coming back down.
New lighting for the laundry room is being considered. No mom I have not decided on this one just yet. A chandy is still in the running.
A little birdie Tami from Curb Alert told me about these fabulous old chippy corbels so The Hubster took me to get some. Thanx Tami!

I went to HomeGoods and found some awesome french linens. I can not wait to use them around the house.
I also found these huge apples that I had to have! I already have a project in mind for them so stay tuned.

Well that is life around here. Hope all is well and thanx for stopping by!:) Treasure Hunt Thursday Most Viewed will resume tomorrow and THT on Wed so be sure to get your treasures ready to share.

Linking up to Nifty Thrifty Tuesday!

  3. Those linens are so fun, and the apples are gorgeous! Are they made out of wood? Have you ever had front loading machines before? I've had mine for several years now and really like them. There are a few things you have to do with the washing machine that you don't with a top loader -- like wipe down the rubber gasket with vinegar once in awhile & leave the door open slightly between uses to keep it from smelling moldy. If you didn't know about that, don't panic, it's not that big of a deal. Let me know if you have any questions.

  6. Funny I think I must have picked up the linens around the same time you did. I love HomeGoods... I did get the $.79 towels at IKEA. I have probably 15 of them...I'd be happy to send some to you. I am headed back to IKEA sometime in the next couple of weeks & I can get more...if I need that many really ;)

  9. Ugh, I'm sure you weren't thrilled with water all over, Pamela. Good idea to just go with the plumber at this point. What are you going to do to that mirror? It sounds like you've got some plans. I have none really at the moment. Right now I guess I'm going with whatever comes my way! I do have a couple of Goodwill things to makeover, so that will do for now.

  14. I just went through the appliance breakdowns at my house. Still don't have a dryer but lucky for me the weather is warm and sunny here so I can hang the clothes out. The French linens are perfect for something I've wanted to do. I'm gonna have to make a run to Homegoods. Wonder if they'll all have been snapped up yet! Hope not.

  15. I am so jealous about those great corbels, but what I covet even more is those French linens from Home Goods. The closest HG is a 40 minute drive in the wrong direction. I look at HG as one of those shops like TJ Maxx where you need to drop in frequently to get the good finds.

    Enjoy those lovely linens.
