Treasure Hunt Thursday #44 & Highlights

Its that time of the week again! Welcome to THT #44! There were lots of great entries last week! I am so honored that y'all take the time to come and party at my place. I know there are many many parties out there to choose from. Last week we slipped in party goers and I am not sure why. The week before we had almost over 90 and this past week only 55. That is a big drop. I am trying to figure out how to email everybody to remind them but I have yet to figure that one out. I am thinking it would help boost the party though. If y'all have any ideas on how to make this party better please let me know!
Anyways, thanx to all who come by each and every week!

I love this vintage tray and I LOVE what Miss Fibertigibbet did with it! I have to make me one.

I love these frenchy side tables! Head on over to Coastal Colors and get the low down!

Of course Becca's newly updated master was awe inspiring as well! Head over to Adventures In Decorating for a full tour!

And I HAD to feature this awesome grandfather clock make over because I have this exact clock that is in the middle of being made over. I kinda abandoned it but after seeing Art Is Beauty make hers over I am re inspired!

As always thank you to all who partied last week!If you were featured please feel free to grab the "I've Been Featured" button!:) Though I was unable to leave a comment on every persons blog please know that I did stop by and visit!! I appreciate everybody taking the time to come over every week! What would be a HUGE help and encourage more comments not just from me but others as well would be for everybody to take off their required verification codes for leaving a comment. This seems to take just a few seconds of time but when you have to do it on 30 or more blogs it takes up a TON of time.

Now on to this weeks party!
As with all parties there are the normal rules. You must link back to From My Front Porch To Yours in your THT POST. Just common courtesy. If ya don't link back ya don't get to party. Only link up to your Treasure Hunt Thursday post and NOT your blog homepage. Please No advertising and PLEASE NO MORE than 3 links from the SAME party goer. If you find your post deleted it is not because I am a meany, I just have to make sure the rules are being followed. You can save some of your posts for the following weeks party! Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more fun! If you are new around here I would love it if ya become a follower!:)

The In-Laws Home

After literally several years of searching my in-laws aka The Nana & The Papa finally purchased a new home. They had lived in a lovely home for over 40 years that they built themselves board by board, brick by brick. It was home that their children grew up in and that their grand children were introduced to extended family in. It held many many memories so their new home had to be something special to make them want to move. It was a tall tall order but finally last summer they found the one in North Georgia!
Here are just a few pictures that I snapped during our visit at Thanksgiving. It was the first time we were able to visit their beautiful new home.

The front porch is just gorgeous! I love all the rock and the arches.

This is the beautiful window to their dining room. Come on inside and see some more.

Yes, I know The Nana is probably gasping cause I am sharing a pic of her foyer with shoes every where. Trust me when I say that their foyer ONLY looks like this when we invade!;)

And here is the other side of that window I showed you outside. This is one of my favorite rooms in the entire house!! I am also loving their new Paula Deen dining set they purchased after the moved in.
Their kitchen is so open and spacious. It did not have an island so The Nana brought hers from their previous home. It looks like it has always been here.

Look at the beautiful moldings! They are thru out the entire home.

A dreamy gas log fireplace! A fireplace with a rock surround makes my heart go pitter pat.

Here is the opposite side of the living room that looks into the kitchen. Some more of the beautiful trim work! Believe it or not The Papa is not a fan of it.

This is their back patio which is another favorite spot of mine.

You can not beat the views! Their lot backs up to just trees so they will never have anybody behind them. There is even a creek back there somewhere.

We are so happy and thrilled that The Nana & The Papa found a home to make them happy! Though we wished it could have been out here with us we are so glad that they are now near my sister in law and her husband and The Nana's extended family! They are always on the go doing something or seeing somebody! It makes our hearts happy.

Half Bathroom

So what have y'all been up to lately? Me, nothing at all so that left me with nothing to blog about really. I have a thousand ideas running around in my head but I have done zip with them. Not really wanting to spend the money on them right now. I was going thru old pics this evening though and came across our half bath in our last house. I had just started blogging back then and it was on my first blog so I do not think I have shared this redo yet.

I was on a tight tight budget back then but wanted to dress the space up some.

On one of our weekly trips to Target I found this beautiful buffalo plaid curtain panel. It was perfect for the coloring in our house.

So I brought it home along with a few other accessories and got busy making a skirt for the pedestal sink. I used velcro sticky things and a hot glue gun to create box pleats all the way around the sink.

My assistant thought it needed something more so I tacked a piece of ribbon up there and decided I really liked it.

I think my assistant knew what he was talking about!;)

With the extra length from the curtain panel and three placemats I made this window topper. I am not digging my choice of curtain rod but at the time I believe it was all I could find!;) That and the swirls matched the swirls in the rug for in there.

To top the window off I added some upholstery tacs to the bottom of the windowsill. If the new owner did not like them I am sure they had tons of fun trying to pry them out!;)

So there ya have it! A half bath makeover for right about $50 if I remember correctly. Most everything was on sale or clearance. Just the way I like it even today.

Hope your weekend is going well! Now back to deciding what to do with our current half bath.
