A New Friend & Home Halloween Tour

Last week I received a sweet email from one of my readers, Brenda. Brenda introduced herself telling me that she use to shop out at The Old Oak Cottage when it was open. We had never met but it turns out that she lives in my neighborhood. Brenda invited me over for coffee and to chat. I am happy to call Brenda a new friend! Brenda is the type of lady who you could sit for hours and talk about anything and everything and we did just that!:) We have so much in common to include our passion for anything with a french flare.
Brenda lives in one of the newest sections of our hood and as soon as she told me what floor plan she had I knew she had to have good taste that and she reads my blog so just saying!;) Just joking!:) Anyways, I have drooled over this floor plan for years.

Just look at all the rock and wood shutters! French Country goodness that can not be beat.

Brenda's home welcomes you with fall greetings on the porch.

I love this wire planter basket and how she has it displayed. It is all just a hint of what is to come when you open the door.

In her foyer you are greeted with a beautiful hutch that her hubby made her.

Brenda has such an eye for detail and I have already told her she MUST come and help me at our house. That is after I get rid of all of our dust bunnies and try to put away all of my many many projects!;)

When I first saw this wall shelf I was so enamored with it that I did not even realize it was hung in an art niche. I never know what to  do with those. We have one in our living room and I am still tweaking it 3 years later. Anyways, this shelf was a $5 find that Brenda made over!

This is a small area by her wrap around stair case in the foyer.

She has so many knick knacks.

A little frenchy table going into her dining room.

Brenda's dining room is just gorgeous. I love all the natural light that comes in as well. She made over her builder grade chandy. I will show you more of it in another post.

Brenda is an artisan and use to design pieces for ESC Trading Company. She made this crow canvas that I just adore!

Her beautiful hutch she purchased and is planning on repainting.

I am in love with her two story living room. Do you see what she used in her art niche in here? Reclaimed barn wood! I LOVE it!

Such an eye for detail I tell ya.

I really love this little side table and the basket underneath where she keeps her magazines.

Talk about a dream kitchen!

Brenda made this pumpkin sign last week. I am hoping she will help me make a sign or two in the near future!;)

I loved visiting with Brenda! She is such a super nice lady. She reminds me some of my mama. I meant to get a picture of her but forget so the next time I visit I will snap a pic so y'all can meet her too and not just her house. I am so glad to have met Brenda and look forward to our new friendship. Sadly though she will probably be moving in January but I will surely enjoy her company till then. We are already talking Christmas decor!
