Paradise

A few weeks back this was me! We were in paradise.  The entire family enjoyed our yearly pilgrimage to Perdido Key, FL.
This was our view from the 17th floor!
The boys and I enjoyed chillaxin on the balcony and enjoying the views. Littliest and I even took a nap out there! This was the first year that it was not terribly hot. Some evenings you even needed a cover up to sit out there.
We enjoyed many a sun set while there.
The full moon was amazing to say the least!
We visited a few local places such as the Pensacola Lighthouse though we didn't go up. Nobody had on tennis shoes.
We did spot this fabulous path to the beach right behind the light house though. This is one of my favorite pictures from the entire trip.
Speaking of pictures this year I just went with the flow and we took family pics the last full day we were there. Big mistake! All week we had beautiful weather and sunshine. This day was the day the storms were heading in and it was overcast and SUPER windy. So family pics were basically a wash but that's okay.

I did manage to get a few good ones of Oldest & Littliest. I love looking back at our pictures year after year on the beach and seeing how much they have grown!
Though the storms were heading our way we managed to grab a bite to eat at Tacky Jacks on the bay. Littliest loves playing the grabber machine that has the live lobsters and well this year The Papa grabbed him one on the first try!:) Oldest had been wanting to try lobster for quite some time now so we had the lobster cooked. Well Oldest ended up not tasting it because he was sad that he got cooked!:(  Ya win some ya loose sum. The adults enjoyed it...minus me. I am not into seafood!:0
This was the view the morning we left. It had been storming all night and the garage had actually started flooding but thankfully they fixed it. The drive home was terrible. We hit every red ban of weather there was and streets were flooding. It was the most rain in such a short amount of time that they had received in years. I think it was reported that Perdido  ended up with 20 inches in less than 48 hours.

All in all we had a fabulous time. We look forward to hopefully bringing our grand kids here one day!
In my next post I will share with y'all a fabulous place we visited one day after we went outlet shopping. You won't want to miss it. Lots of eye candy!:)

Hope everybody is having a grand weekend and Happy Fathers Day to Grandpa & The Papa! Wish we could spend it with y'all!

  7. Your photos are great! This is where we had a home and hurricane Ivan destroyed it in 2004. I love Perdido Key because it isn't as crowded as Destin. So glad you had fun and the rain waited until you were leaving!
