Towels & A Curtain

After making a pillow last week from a napkin and some jute webbing I became addicted. I started thinking of all the things I could turn into pillows!
Just so happened I had these dish towels I purchased a few weeks back and a beautiful damask curtain. Remember when I told you I had something different planned for the curtain?! Well after my men went to bed Sunday night I went to play in my sewing room.

This is what I came up with! I had never made anything with ruffles before except for the guest room bedskirt. I figured I could just wing it and thankfully it turned out just perfect!

This is the mate to the bee pillow.

I am really loving how they turned out.

I went looking for those great towels you found at Home Goods, Pamela, and only found the one set {which had the blue stripe you are showing}. I was a little disappointed, but glad I at least got the one. They are nice and big, too, so perfect for sewing into a pillow.

Love your pillows! Great job! I recently sewed ruffles for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was.

I love your pillows and the way that you used your damask curtain. You'd never know if was your first time making ruffles. Great job!

They are great. I learned to make ruffles using dental floss. You hold the dental floss and zia-zag over it with a basting stitch. Pull the floss and it gathers very easily.
