Treasures For The Week

Sorry I have not posted anything interesting this past week. My mom came into town to celebrate Oldest's 8th birthday. We had a grand time and did a lot of shopping. I thought you might like to see the treasures I found.
First I have to say that this here little boy and his brother are one of my most prized treasures! They make me soooo very proud! Him and his brother are huge animal lovers and well instead of presents all Oldest wanted for his birthday was money to donate to help dogs in shelters. He said he had enough toys and that it was more important to help those animals who did not have homes yet. Talk about a tear jerker y'all!
Well his Nana & Papa came in a few weeks ago to celebrate his bday early during their Spring Break and they gave him and Littliest some money. They were told they could do whatever they wanted with it and they both opted to donate it with out hesitation so off to PetSmart we went during Adoption Days. Between the two of them they donated  $100!! I was one proud mama! Now mind you Littliest tried to reason with me by saying that it would be better to just bring one of the kitties home with us but he did not win that discussion!;) We already have two furry children. One from the local SPCA and the other who we adopted during Adoption Days at PetSmart years ago. I explained that that was plenty for now.

Now on to shopping with my mama which I LOVED and wish I could do more of. We only see each other twice a year so I enjoy all the time I get to spend with her.

We went to Ellen's Timeless Treasures and I purchased this fabulous tea set for just $20! It needs to be shined up but at $20 I thought it was a steal.

One of my mama's favorite stores to visit is Thad's in Old Town Spring. This visit I found this awesome miniature cement lion. I have always wanted larger ones to sit at our fence entrance like my mama has so when I saw this one and its mate I had to have them.

We also went to The Antique Gallery and I found this darling little mirror for just $5. There were not too many deals to be had this time around there and a lot more booths were vacant then my previous visit. Not sure if it had something to do with everybody getting ready for Round Top or not.

I did find this beyond fabulous miniature federal convex mirror!! I snatched it up without hesitation when I saw it. For just $10 it was a steal. I came home to research it and it goes for over $40 on Ebay. I also researched its copyright date because I was thinking about adding some gold to it. Well turns out it is from 1945 so it will be staying the way that it is.

So there ya have my treasures for the week. Now I just have to figure out where to put them all. Don't forget to come back later this evening for Treasure Hunt Thursday!
