Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more fun!

Coffee Filter Wreath Tutorial

Coffee Filter Wreath Tutorial From My Front Porch To Yours
After seeing some amazing coffee filter wreaths out in blogland for the past year I decided I was going to attempt one. I figured how hard could it be!? I researched the directions and purchased my supplies. According to my research I needed approx 75 filters so I purchased just one pack of filters.

I then purchased two straw wreaths from HobLob. Seeing as it was my first attempt I used the smaller ring and decided to wrap it in script scrapbook paper. Note that I left the plastic on the wreaths as to not cause an even larger mess.

All I did was tear off inch or so strips and hot glued them all around so that if I had any holes or if the back was seen it would still look nice.

Then I started making the poofs. Just flatten out the filter and fold in half and then continue folding. I folded in alternating patterns. Then when you are done folding just twist the bottom like so to keep the poof shape.

Next I separated the filter and made the poof look like a flower.

Next came the glueing. Note you will need lots of glue sticks and a large thresh hold of pain! I can not tell you how many times I hot glued my finer or finger nail!:0

This is what it looked like with the first row completed.

Here is the second row on. Tips would be to make your poofs ahead of the game. This will save you a ton of time  or at least make it go more smoothly because let me tell ya this is NOT a quick project though fairly easy. Up to this point I already had almost two hours vested and remember this is the smaller ring!

Okay, so here we are a week later and another half a pack of filters this is what I got. I will admit I only worked on it three days in that time period but that was because it was a very tideous project. I used an entire pack and half of filters so be sure to buy extra!

Next up came some trimming and evening out. Do not go crazy here. You will only need a little snip here and there.

I decided to make mine a Christmas wreath so next up I made a bow for it with this beautiful velvet damask ribbon I had.

I made the ribbon long enough so that it can be hung off of a mirror.

Here is a picture of what the back looks like. I am really glad I glued the stripes of script paper because it just gives it a more completed look.

I think it turned out fab. Maybe a little Hollywood glam I think with the bling. Now I am trying to decide if I want to keep it or sell it. Just not sure on that one yet. I was making it to sell but after factoring in the time I am just not sure it would be worth my wild and it is just so darn pertty!

My Little Closet

Hey y'all! Hope the week has started of well for everybody! It is a drizzling kinda day here today and muggy as all get out. Hopefully it will just go ahead and rain. There is suppose to be cooler temps behind it. I am over having 83 days and then 63 days in the same week. Cooler weather please come and stay put!
As promised I am gonna share my little closet space that I am renting out at The Old Oak Cottage! I have not been doing much around the house so I figured this was as good of time as any!;)

I am located in the vintage toy room which is the first room to the left after ya enter the dinning room. Not that that will mean anything to those of you who do not live in the area but I thought I needed to throw that in there!;)

It is not a very big space but just big enough for me. I decided to bring in my overstock boutique baby bibs. I use to sew those like a crazy lady back when the boys were younger. I made some pretty good money off of them doing wholesale orders for gals who owned boutiques. I now know why they kept ordering. They are my top seller so I will be headed back into the sewing room to get some girly ones made.

Here is the saved antique mirror back made into a chalk board/sign that I shared last week. I love it in here but once Lucille is sold I will be needing to figure out how to add hanging hardware to it. That may be tricky since it is not a very thick piece of wood.

The other corner which is just big enough for my Queen Bee Stool.

I made some holiday frames to sell. They take a lot of time so I have only have two made thus far. This one is an 8x10 frame and 3 dimensional.

Here is the second one which I believe is a 5x7 frame. It is 3 dimensional as well. I decided to break up my pedestal picture frame chalk boards that I made last month. They cost a quite a bit more to make than any of my other projects so to justify the cost I decided to sell two of them and just keep one. I was not sure it would sell but it did so now I need to get the other one out there.

So there ya have it! I have a little something for everybody I think and great prices. It is not a large space but just right for me. It is a lot of work making sure everything stays full. I am trying to hunt down another dresser to go in there once Lucille sells. I already have my vision for it. Over the weekend during our Christmas Open House there were several ladies taking measurements of Lucille so I am hoping Lucille will sell soon.
Don't forget to go and enter my Shabby Apple giveaway! It runs thru 11/12! This is an amazing piece and I so wish I was getting one to! Ha! I am having such a blast blogging and meeting y'all and was super excited when they offered this up to me!
