Queen Bee Stool

I purchased these wood bar stools recently thinking that they all were the same size. I had visions of making them a set. Well they were not and thus I had to go to plan B and decide on what to do with them individually. Since my boss is away at Round Top I decided this was a good time to get my many projects done. Today I tackled one of the stools.

Here is my Queen Bee stool!

I used paint markers to hand draw the design on top of the stool and also gave it a white washed antique look.

The finish is a mix of regular paint and chalk paint. I just love how it turned out. Now what to do with the other three stools? Hmmm....
Thanx for stopping by!

Treasures For The Week

Happy Thursday y'all! Hope your week is going well. My boss is headed to Round Top till Oct 2 so while she is away I get to play here at the house and I will give you a hint and that hint is that I have been as busy as a Bee!;) Hope to share soon!
Until then I thought I would share my treasures for the week. Well actually the past two weeks.

I have been admiring these botanical prints for some time now on Ebay and at the local antique shop. I soo wanted to get a few and when these popped up on the local yard sale site I snatched um right up at just $5 for the pair! They are only 8x10 and smaller than what I have been looking at but I am sure I can work them in somewhere!

Next up is this beautiful bedside table I just purchased at a second hand shop yesterday. It was $40 and a tad more than what I wanted to spend but seeing as it is real wood and EXACTLY what I was looking for I had to run down and get it before it got gone. It will be going in the guest bedroom.

My final treasure is this awesome script lamp shade! I have seen these at all of our fave shops and well they cost anywhere from $50 all the way up to $80! Way out of my budget for a lamp shade so when I stumbled upon this shade yesterday for just $10, yes ladies I said just $10, I had to have it! You can not even make a shade like this for $10! Wanna know where I got it? WalMart!! Yes, I said WM! So now that I have mine you can run on out and get yours!;) It is a Better Homes & Garden shade.

One Thing Leads To Another

Hey y'all! Sorry I have been MIA a lot lately! I have been super busy! Of course there is the normal kids, school, house, and job but I have also been working on some other projects as well. The armoire is finally done and has been moved into the guest room. I am still NOT ready for a full reveal though... I know such a tease... because well I did not like the back drop blue walls in there. The walls were totally throwing off the color of the armoire and thus began the process of choosing a new paint color for the guest room. I mean I could have asked The Hubster to drag it out into the yard so I could take pics but I am sure you can imagine how that conversation would have gone!:)

So last night I went digging thru my MANY sample paints from SW and after three attempts ended up with Hopsack. I really really liked it but it was dark and so I had to wait and see till morning.

Well morning came and I HATED Hopsack. It just was not the color I was going for and I felt made the space feel too small. So here is the final verdict! After school the boys and I picked up two gallons of SW Antique White and thus I have started the process of painting the guest room all so I can take pics of the armoire for y'all!;) Here you can see also see a few of the goodies I have purchased for the room.

She is one of my most fave items!! Not sure where she will end up in the room but I do love her!

And as if that was not enough I started playing out in the garage again with the slightly cooler weather we have been having all because I started this project! It is to highlight my items for sale for the local folks and if all goes well I may end up renting a space!:) Who knows though where it will lead.

So there ya have what I have been up to! What have you been up to?
