Treasures For The Week

Happy Friday y'all! Hope your week was a grand one! Since I was so busy this week I have not had a chance to share my treasures for the week! Pardon the lack of exciting photos. I did not have time for staging this morning!:)

Check this piece out! Believe it or not in the three weeks that I have been out at the cottage this the ONLY thing I have brought home with me! I know, can you believe it!? It surprised even myself really!:) Marci actually had not one but two of these diamonds in the rough and while I was cleaning them up I knew I just had to ask to buy one of them. I was not sure she would agree since we were getting stuff together for Round Top but she did and so this purply pink soon to be master piece came home with me. I am going to use it above the guest room bed. I can not decided if I want it to look like old plaster or a wood piece. It is actually just a plastic mold.

Next up is this beautiful frenchy side table! I got it for just $25 which to some may be high but it is just the right height and style I needed so I was good with the price. Not sure if it will stay in it's current state or not. As you can see it is in the guest bedroom. Hoping this weekend to start painting in there!:) Getting excited about the guest bedroom make over because I just finished up the armoire last night and can not wait to share!!

So there ya have my treasures for the week!:) Before I go if you have not noticed I FINALLY figured out how to make a blog button so here is the Treasure Hunt Thursday "I've Been Featured!" button! WhooHoo!

Blog Buttons??

UPDATE: I Did It Y'all!!! I figured it out and am SUPER excited!!:)

Y'all rocked with suggestions on digital signatures...much appreciated... so now I am calling out to you for help on creating blog buttons. I do not have any fancy software and nor do I really want to pay an arm and a leg to have a few made. I can make um but the program I have does not allow me to save the graphic and the text easily. It takes me several hours for just one button. So any tips or secrets??

And again a fluff pic!:) The fall fairy has been busy at work!:)
Hope your week is going well y'all! Hard to believe it is almost over. Oh, just in case you are wondering all is good on the home front! Fire is out!! Thanx for all the prayers and well wishes! It was not a natural fire but arson!!! They found a gas can at the scene! Can I tell you how mad that makes me!!!???

Favor??

Hey y'all! Hope your Tuesday has been a good one! I am in between making the boys dinner and heading out to take them to try Karate class but I have a favor to ask. If there is anybody who knows how to create signatures for at the end of blog posts please contact me!:) I need two made and have no idea how to do it! The gal I used to make mine is no longer around and I need them for The Old Oak Cottage blog that I am in the process of sprucing up.

Thanx in advance for any leads!

And here is some eye candy because I hate doing posts with no pics!:)
 Have grand evening y'all!

DIY Rustic Shutters & New Foyer Lighting- Adding Rustic Farmhouse Charm

Hope y'all had a wonderful long holiday weekend! The tropical storm brought us a ton of wind and just a little rain. Not enough by any means! There are fierce fires raging just 2 and half hours from us near Austin. We pray for those who are effected by them!! Today we had some beautiful weather though and we are very thankful for it. Tonight it is suppose to get down to 58!! WhooHoo!
As for my to do list I managed to clean house, get all the laundry done, and accomplish a few projects with The Hubster's help. One we finished up today just before dinner.

Let me take you back to December to show you the before. Nice chandy but not quite large enough for the space and that empty landing above the door. What on earth do people ever do with those!?

First things first, The Nana & The Papa got up on scaffolding changing out my foyer chandy for me! It had sat in the garage for a year just longing for it's new home.

Yes, I was in LOVE with how it turned out! On the other hand there was still something missing.

Now fast forward to yesterday when we headed to Lowes and purchased some lumber. We had it cut down to the size we needed and then I came home and stained away.  I did not sand it or anything. I wanted it to have a rustic feel.

Next The Hubster nailed the boards together for me.

Then we added the hanging hardware. Can I tell you how much I HATE nailing those tiny nails in!? They are the worst! Thankfully The Hubster did that for me too!:)

This is what we ended up with and I was just tickled pink!

Next I had to tackle my fear of heights and head up a very tall ladder with out looking down! The Papa would be proud because I had a tape measure in tow and actually measured out where to place the screws in the wall something I normally do not do.

Just the something extra this space needed! Deciding if I want to place a small rug up there or not?

Yep, I am in love! The best part is that this project cost all of $15!!
