Thank You!

Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for all of your kind hearted thoughts and prayers this past week! Grandma Lillian was laid to rest today. We are saddened that we were not able to be there but we find peace in knowing she is now an angel above watching over us! She was loved very much and will be missed greatly.

It was confirmed yesterday that we all indeed are suffering from the flu bug. It has been just an awful week and we are yet back to our normal selves. The doc said to expect it to linger up to 14 days since we could not get in to see him within the first 24-48 hours. Wonderful but at least today we were able to get dressed and get out of the house after being couped up for the week. Only made it to WM on the hunt for valentines for the boys before they were all gone but hey it was at least somewhere.

It has been dreadfully cold here and we have been literally frozen inside for almost two days. In all the years we have lived in Tx I had never seen sooo much ice! We were hoping for snow but oh well.

Now that we hopefully are on the upward swing of things I plan to be back to posting new projects once again next week! Thanx for the features this past week and to all the new follows!! It made my day a little brighter to see new faces come around!:)

Again thank you to all of my bloggy friends for your many lovely thoughts and prayers!!

Hey all! It has been one heck of a week thus far. This is the first time I Have even felt like being on the computer. ALL four of us have the flu bug or something and we are beyond miserable. Oldest went to school today but said he did not feel good at all. We all have never been all sick at the same time.

It is beyond windy and super cold here now. Take in the fact that the last three days we were in the 70s. It is only suppose to be 20 the next few nights and possibly some snow Thursday night early Friday. Would be exciting if we were not sick and not given the situation back in Ga.

The Hubster's Grandma is not expected to make it thru the night so if ya'll could please take a moment or two and send some prayers up for her and the family that is there with her. I know it has been super hard on them all!! We hate that we can not be there with them! I have not told the boys yet. They always loved visiting with Grandma Lillian when we would go home. It was a very special time seeing four generations in one room. My grandparents never got to meet my boys so I always held the times we got to visit The Hubster's very special. Yes, we will truly miss those times.

Be back soon I hope with a new post.

Foyer Chandy Gets New Life

Edited: Joing up with Marty for her Cloche Party! 7/18/11

Ever since I received my herb crates in the mail last week my creativity just started to flow again! This past weekend ideas just kept popping into my head and I had to run with them. The Hubster asked me if I was ever gonna stop! Ha! I worked on displays in the foyer and in our dining room. Today I want to share a little project I did for the dinning room.

Do you remember our old foyer light fixture that came down right after Christmas(click here for that adventure)? I know this is not a great pic but you can get an idea of how it looked hanging up. It was dusty, silver and only one light was left working. It begged to come down. As soon as The Papa had it down I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. So over the weekend I turned our old foyer chandy into something totally different!

How about a huge cloche!!?? I have it sitting in the middle of the dining room table.  I used one of the herb crates  and then one of my fave HomeGoods plates I have had for some time. I hot glued the old silverware to the plate and then added the gingham ribbon to add that extra touch. It sits on a fabric place mat I purchased back in November at The Nutcracker Market.

The top finial was silver and it was not working for me so I took it in the garage and sprayed it with some spray paint I had left over from other chandy projects I have done around the house. It turned out just perfect.

I love the speckled glass! It adds a vintage feel to my new huge cloche! The best thing abt this project is that it was virtually free minus the fact that I had just purchased the set of four herb crates.

Thanx for stopping by! I am linking up to the following linky parties:

Metamorphosis Monday: Between Naps on The Porch
Sunday Showcase Party: Under The Table and Dreaming
