Brunch for Four

This morning the boys and I were invited by Marci from over at The Old Oak Cottage to enjoy brunch with her at Poppy's Tea Room. It is an adorable little cafe/bistro/shop in Huffman Tx.

This is Kathye the owner and she is just as adorable and a great hostess!

There are I think 6 little rooms here all with different names that you can choose to dine in. This was our room and I think it was called The Paris Room. There is even a hot pink room that is just perfect for a little girls birthday party.

Super yummy scones and muffins and fruit!

Don't these quiches look yummy too!? After we brunched Marci and I chatted a bit about her upcoming trip to the Atlanta Market. I can not wait to see what she comes back with!

Afterwards we shopped a bit. Kathye has some wonderful treasures all around! I really wanted this mirror and for just $60 I thought it was a good deal. I may have to check back for it in a few weeks. The frame is just to die for. I can see it sitting on our fireplace mantle can't you!?

Vintage wedding dresses.

I also love this pair of Victorian frames. They were $40 for the pair which I thought was not bad but still a bit more than I wanted to spend on them. I may be checking back for those as well!;)

I did bring this home. I love me some chunky ornate frames and was excited when I saw it was only $12! Oh the possibilities this lil' frame holds!

Sorry the pictures were not the best quality. I forgot my camera and the cell camera was just not happy. If you head over to Kathye's FaceBook page she has much better pictures!

Poppy's Tea Room is so very delightful and definitely worth a visit if you live in the area. If you do stop by tell Kathye Pamela sent ya!:)

Thank you Marci for inviting us! We had a great time and thank you Kathye for being such a great hostess!

So what have you been up to today?

  1. A tea room opened recently down by where I work, Pamela, and I had a chance to go in a couple of weeks ago. They've got an area where you can purchase tea things in the front and then the tea room is just behind that. They seem to be doing very well. I love quiche and in recent years have had to switch to the crustless ones that Trader Joe's carries {that gluten free thing}. I really miss a good quiche though. Those vintage wedding gowns are just gorgeous!

  2. Super Cool! I think a little visit to Huffman is in order soon. I'm gonna have to come and check that out and it won't be too far a drive from near downtown Houston!

  3. This looks like so much fun. I love how they served the fruit and scones on the tiered server. Your boys are the cutest!
I look chunky frames too! Those Victorian frames are wonderful and the mirror is gorgeous too.
Thanks for coming to the party.
